Essex Beaches

| Guests

Essex is a county in England and borders Suffolk and Cambridgeshire to the north, Hertfordshire to the west, Kent to the south (across the Thames estuary) and London to the south-west. The county town is Chelmsford, which is the only city in the county. Essex manages to combine modern facilities, fascinating towns and villages and ever-changing coastlines to create the perfect day trip or short break.

ETK have Holiday Homes within a few miles of the following beaches:

Clacton Beach: This sandy beach has plenty of facilities. along with easy parking and is a firm favourite with Holiday-Makers.  It boasts a Victorian pier alongside the seaside amusements, cafes, entertainment and has a seasonal lifeguard service.

Clacton is dog-restricted.

Frinton-On-Sea Beach: Frinton has a wide sandy beach and strives to remain as uncommercialised as possible, to maintain its reputation as a quiet family resort. It has received a Blue Flag award for its outstanding cleanliness. At the rear of the shelved beach is an extensive promenade, lined with beach huts.

Frinton does not allow dogs on the beach between May-September.

Holland-On-Sea Beach: Holland-on-Sea is a sandy beach, in the stretch of coastline from St Osyth to Walton-On-The-Naze. This is a quieter area than Clacton.

Holland-On-Sea is dog-restricted.

Jawick Sands: Beautifully sandy stretch of beach: the neighbouring resort to Clacton itself. It has recently been reconstructed with the addition of thousands of tons of sand, which has extended the beach and made access from Clacton easier. There is parking at the beach and public W.Cs at either end.

Jawick is dog-friendly all year round.

Martello Beach: This sandy beach is named after a small defensive fort known as a 'Martello Tower', which dates back to the nineteenth century. There are plenty of facilities including cafes, a shop, and even beach hut hire. There are very popular clifftop gardens overlooking the beach.

Martello does not allow dogs on the beach between May-September.

Walton-On-The-Naze: Walton's beach is a good family beach, with the shelving sand providing safe swimming and there is a seasonal lifeguard service. It provides classic seaside amusements and a number of beachside cafés in addition to boasting the second longest pier in the UK.

Walton does not allow dogs on the beach between May-September.
