A little about St Ives, Cornwall
St Ives is widely viewed as the "jewel in Cornwall’s crown" - a beautiful seaside town, surrounding the stunning harbour and set in breathtaking coastal scenery. St Ives benefits from the warmth of the Gulf Stream, so enjoys a very mild sub-tropical climate, perfect for your next holiday.
The beaches in the St Ives area are just stunning: endless sand & crystal-clear sea... what more could you want? There's plenty of wildlife to spot, due to the warm temperatures, the waters attract seals, dolphins, porpoises and even basking sharks! If smaller sea-life is more to your taste, look out for the rock pools full of shrimp, crabs and sea-anemone.
The beaches are clean too! European Blue Flag and Tidy Britain awards have been given to the St Ives beaches for several years running.
All the main St Ives bathing beaches are dog-friendly between the first of October and the Sunday before Easter of the following year. Dogs are permitted on Carbis Bay beach from 05:00-08:00 and the harbour beach allows an early morning dog walk up until 08:00 and evening after 19:00 throughout the summer months.
However, there are two small beaches which allow unrestricted dog access all year:- Bamaluz, (between the Harbour and Porthgwidden) and Lambeth Walk (behind the Lifeboat station.)
Driftwood Bungalow is a very popular Holiday Home, so be sure to book quickly to avoid disappointment!
